Universal Commerce
I fully expected some things things to be found universally in this global era. I knew Coke, Sprite, McDonalds, and KFC would be readily avilable over here in Shanghai, albeit with slightly altered menu selections. I was not surprised to find Pizza Hut and even a Taco Bell (although the fact that the Taco Bell is a formal sit down meal with white linen napkins was a little humorous). I was a little surprised, yet thankful, to get my same brands of Soap, Shampoo, Lotion, and Hair Gel from the local store. But one of the last things I would have expected to see was a bunch of little Chinese kids all gathered around the toy section asking their parents to buy them Polly Pockets.

It's interesting to see what our colleges are teaching the younger generation. We're obviously not encouraging them to get out enough, nor are we adequately explaining the significant impact of globalization. "Wow, they have bubble gum here! Who'd a thunk it, ma?" Really B and C, you MUST get out more. DO take these few years to bring yourselves into the global 21st century. My shampoo in Shanghai. Paleeeese.

If you can find the secret to creating product crazes, I know that Lance can help you meet demand.
Nice blog, by the way. Glad to know that you are well.
